Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This privacy policy explains how Dancy Building Contractors Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects the personal data of people who visit our website at https://dancybc.com or contact us through it. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Dancy Building Contractors Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

  • Company registration number: 15432692
  • VAT registration number: 471215023
  • Registered address: High St, Steyning, West Sussex, BN44 3RD, United Kingdom
  • Contact: info@dancybc.com · 07807 114039

What information we collect

We only collect the data we need to respond to you and run the website:

  • Enquiry details you give us. When you submit the enquiry or quote form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided) and the job description you write.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery provider automatically logs limited technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliable operation.
  • Analytics & advertising data. Where you consent, we use cookies and similar technologies (for example Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement) to understand how the site is used and how our advertising performs.

How we use your information, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide quotes/services — lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to potential and existing customers, and, where work proceeds, performance of a contract.
  • To operate and secure the website — lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, functional website.
  • For analytics and advertising measurement — lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Cookies and analytics

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. No analytics or advertising cookies are set until you accept — rejecting is as easy as accepting, and there are no pre-ticked boxes.

  • Essential — needed for the site and the enquiry form to work, and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on and set no marketing data.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — set only with your consent, to understand how the site is used.
  • Advertising (Google Ads) — set only with your consent, to measure the performance of our advertising.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the website footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent stops the relevant tags loading on subsequent page views.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:

  • Email delivery (SMTP2GO) — to deliver your enquiry to our inbox.
  • Website hosting and delivery (Vercel) — to host and serve the site.
  • Analytics and advertising (Google) — where you have consented.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is securely deleted. Technical logs and analytics data are retained for limited periods in line with our providers’ standard retention settings.

International transfers

Some of our providers (such as Google and Vercel) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent) are in place to protect your data.

How we protect your data

The website is served over HTTPS, and we use reputable providers with appropriate technical and organisational security measures. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to our processing of your data;
  • data portability; and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@dancybc.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
