Structural Extensions & Complex Home Transformations

Structural Builds, Extensions & Carefully Selected Conversions

Our portfolio highlights the kind of projects we’re best known for - large extensions and complex residential builds involving structural works. We regularly collaborate with architects and engineers to bring ambitious designs to life, and our attention to detail ensures each project is completed to the highest standard. While our main focus is on structural extensions and significant alterations, we occasionally take on smaller projects such as garage conversions and internal refurbishments when they align with our expertise and commitment to quality.

Knockthrough & Rear Extension — Lewes

Modern Materials Structural Precision, and Sustainable Thinking

This project involved replacing an outdated conservatory that was compromising the home’s energy efficiency. The client wanted a solution that not only improved insulation but also navigated access and planning constraints. To overcome these challenges, we recommended a modern construction method using a GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) frame on groundscrew piles.

This approach significantly reduces on-site disruption by requiring minimal excavation and fewer material deliveries — ideal for restricted access sites. We began by installing the structural steel beam spanning the rear of the property, followed by drainage and service connections. Groundscrew foundations were then driven into place, allowing us to raise the GRP subframe above ground level.

This method is especially effective on sloped sites, as it removes the need for excessive below-DPC brick and blockwork. The structure was finished with a UV-resistant liquid polymer roof for long-term durability, and locally sourced cedar cladding to complement the surrounding environment. Fully compliant with building regulations and offering excellent thermal performance, this build demonstrates how modern techniques can deliver beautiful, efficient, and structurally sound results - even on challenging sites.

Conservatory & Garden - Haywards Heath

We had the absolute pleasure of carrying out this transformative project, building a new conservatory and totally overhauling the garden.

This paticular job involved the removal of a vast amount of earth to create two new levels, as although the existing garden wasn’t lacking in space it was hard to utilise as it was on a continual gradient.

Once we removed the spoil, we built a concrete block and brick cavity wall, with rebar cast into the foundation which was then cast within the cavity with a fibre screed mix.

Conservatory & Garden Transformation — Haywards

Heath Maximising Space with Structural Landscaping and Smart Design

This project combined structural landscaping with a brand-new conservatory to dramatically transform both the home and outdoor space. The original garden offered plenty of square footage but was challenging to use due to a steep and continuous gradient. To overcome this, we carried out a significant excavation to create two distinct, levelled areas, giving the space functionality and structure. We constructed a reinforced cavity wall, formed from concrete block and brickwork with cast-in rebar for added strength. The cavity itself was filled with a fibre screed mix, forming a solid, long-lasting base.

The outdoor areas were finished with porcelain patio paving, new turf, and integrated ACO drainage, ensuring the space is both beautiful and practical in all weather. We also built bespoke steps between levels to create a natural flow through the garden.

To complete the look, a composite fence is being installed at the front of the property - offering a low-maintenance, high-impact finish that ties everything together. This project is a great example of how structural landscaping, paired with thoughtful construction, can completely elevate the use and feel of a property - both inside and out.

Garage Renovation - Brighton

Structural Repairs That Add Space and Curb Appeal

While our focus is on large structural projects, we occasionally take on smaller renovations where we can add lasting value - as with this garage renovation in Brighton. The existing structure was in poor condition, including an asbestos roof, which we safely removed and replaced with a new, low-maintenance GRP flat roof.

The front and rear elevations of the garage were rebuilt from the ground up, addressing structural issues and bringing the space up to modern standards. To complete the transformation, we installed a new window and a secure electric roller garage door, giving the client a more functional and attractive space.

Though relatively modest in scale, this project made a huge impact on the usability of the space and significantly improved the property's curb appeal - a great example of how small structural upgrades can deliver big results.

Conservatory, Patio & Composite Decking — Ringmer

Lewes Elevated Outdoor Living with Precision Details

What began as a straightforward 4×4 conservatory installation evolved into a full outdoor enhancement for a fantastic client in Ringmer. As the project developed, we expanded the scope to include a porcelain patio, composite decking using Trex boards, and a dwarf retaining wall to frame and elevate the space. This perimeter wall not only defines the layout visually but also provides essential elevation and ventilation, incorporating air bricks to maintain airflow beneath the decking structure.

The result is a multi-functional, low-maintenance outdoor area that blends clean lines with durability - a great example of how thoughtful design and detailing can take a simple brief and deliver something exceptional.

Conversion & Annex Build — Woodingdean

Transforming a Redundant Space into a High-Value Living Area

This project in Woodingdean involved the demolition of an existing single garage and the construction of a brand-new annex, extending the original footprint to maximise both functionality and value. The new space includes a generously sized bedroom, a dedicated office area, and a fully fitted ensuite bathroom, creating an entirely self-contained living unit ideal for guests, relatives, or even future rental potential.

By replacing an underused garage with a high-quality, purpose-built structure, the client not only improved how the space is used day-to-day but also made a significant investment in the property’s long-term value. This build is a perfect example of how thoughtful planning and structural expertise can turn an overlooked area into something truly transformative.

Composite Decking — Small Dole

A Durable Low-Maintenance Upgrade with Lasting Impact

This project began with the removal of a recently installed porcelain patio that was causing issues for the client - it had been laid above the DPC (damp proof course), leading to water ingress and long-term risk to the property.

Looking for a more durable, visually appealing, and low-maintenance solution, the client opted for composite decking, and we delivered a design that included a contrasting border trim to elevate the aesthetic of the entire garden. As specialists in working with composite materials — including decking, cladding, fencing, and roofing - we ensure every installation is built to last.

That includes constructing subframes using composite or concrete components to eliminate the risk of future rot and ensure true long-term performance. Composite is an excellent investment for homeowners seeking a permanent, low-upkeep finish. It offers a huge range of styles and price points, making it a versatile solution that adds both beauty and value to your outdoor space.
